Notes from excavators 어느 발굴가의 노트, 2024

『어느 발굴가의 노트』는 작가가 따개비를 추적하며 낚아올린 단상들을 『통로』 작품 속 두 발굴가가 남긴 기록물의 형식으로 보여주고 있다. 작가는 따개비를 비롯한 해양생물들의 생물학적 정보와 공생관계를 바탕으로 바다를 중심으로 한 재지도화를 시도한다. 작업 제작 과정에서 낚아올린 단상들과 드로잉, 물성이 강한 설치들로 구성되어 있다. 생물을 마주하는 시선은 딱딱하게 구획된 육지로부터 해방되어 바다의 유연한 경계를 누빈다.

『Notes from some excavators』 presents reflections gathered by the artist while tracking barnacles, formatted as records left by the two excavators in the work "Passage." The artist attempts a remapping centered around the ocean, drawing on biological information and symbiotic relationships of marine organisms, including barnacles. The work consists of reflections and drawings collected during the creation process, as well as installations with strong material qualities. The gaze toward these organisms is liberated from the rigid boundaries of land, allowing it to traverse the ocean's fluid borders.
